Candied Bacon
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 lbs. thick-cut bacon (approximately 20 slices)
1/2 cup packed light brown sugar
1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
DIRECTIONS
Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Line 2 rimmed baking sheets with nonstick foil. In a bowl, whisk the chili powder with the light brown sugar. Place the bacon strips on the foil and coat the tops with the chili-sugar mixture. Bake for 20-25 minutes, until carmelized and crispy. Transfer bacon to a baking rack over the nonstick foil and cool completely before serving.
**I use skewers to insert into the bacon before cooking.
***May be made ahead a day early and store covered at room temperature.
